- Assists in managing the successful execution of infrastructure and stormwater design and water/wastewater utility projects. Specifically these projects may include:
- Sanitary or stormwater sewer design
- Hydraulic modeling
- Flow monitoring
- Master planning
- Pump station design
- Assist with developing stormwater practice in KCO.
- Help market stormwater work including client and project identification.
- Coordinate with Carollo internal stormwater leads on project and resource coordination.
- Applies acute technical and project delivery knowledge to advise clients throughout the project life cycle.
- Assists in planning, scheduling, and conducting engineering work on water, wastewater, infrastructure, and stormwater projects of various sizes and complexity, with primary responsibility over design decisions and quality standards. Specific work will include preliminary design, detailed design, cost estimating, bidding, engineering services during construction, and project commissioning. Representative engineering tasks include the development of hydraulic calculations, treatment process evaluations and sizing, preparation and review of technical memoranda, design development and reviews, design management in coordination with discipline engineers (e.g. civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and controls), and QA/QC.
- Assists in resourcing, supervising, and coordinating the work of staff engineers, drafters, technicians, and others who assist with specific assignments.
- Leads and oversees project teams in the planning, design, construction, and/or commissioning of projects of various sizes.
- Prepares reports, technical memoranda, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Maintains a culture of effective communication among project teams, clients, partners, and other stakeholders.
- Partners with local business development teams to identify project opportunities and assists with proposal preparation, including project scopes and cost estimates.
- Mentors EITs/younger staff to promote their training and career development
- Minimal travel is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil and/or Environmental Engineering.
- 8-12 years of infrastructure and stormwater project experience.
- Experience delivering and managing water treatment, water transmission/distribution, water storage, groundwater wells, and master planning projects through planning, design, bidding and construction phases.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer.
- Experience in the design and construction phase of small, medium, and large sized water and/or wastewater infrastructure projects with full responsibility for budget, schedule, contractual obligations, and quality standards.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with clients and project team.
- Works well in a team environment.
- Ability to deliver high quality services within budget and schedule constraints.
- Ability to evaluate progress of staff and results obtained and recommend major changes to achieve overall objectives.
