- Conducting climate change vulnerability and risk assessments for water and wastewater infrastructure.
- Developing and implementing resilience plans for various cities and water agencies.
- Analyzing climate change impacts on water supplies (surface water, groundwater, and imported water) and demands.
- Recommending and evaluating adaptation measures to increase the resilience of vulnerable facilities.
- Developing climate change adaptation frameworks for integrated water management plans.
- Prepare technical memoranda, reports, and electronic deliverables to meet our client’s needs.
- Staying current with the latest climate science, planning requirements, and available modeling resources.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver effective and innovative solutions.
- Contributing to the growth of the firm’s Resilience and Sustainability practice.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering, water resources, environmental planning, climate science, or a related field.
- Additional training or coursework in climate change adaptation, resilience planning, or a related field is an added benefit.
- 6-8 years of professional experience in the water and/or wastewater industry.
- Demonstrated experience in climate change vulnerability assessments and resilience planning.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience in climate change adaptation and resilience, including data collection and analysis, research and reporting, and policy analysis.
- Experience with risk and vulnerability assessment methodologies.
- Knowledge of publicly available climate data sources and databases.
- Ability to collect, compile, analyze, and manage large, quantitative and qualitative datasets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to adapt and work independently or as part of a team on multiple priority projects and deadlines and manage time effectively.
- Proactive communicator, both internally and externally, working effectively with junior and senior project staff.
- Strong professional abilities, including the ability to perform complex tasks, relate to others, make evaluations and decisions, accept responsibility, express ideas, and work within schedule and budget constraints.
